复活彩蛋
蛋象征新生命。坚硬的蛋壳无法限制里面正在孕育的新生命。耶稣基督为了我们的罪而钉死在十字架上，葬在坟墓里，但坟墓无法关住他。他第三天复活了，使凡相信他的人，因此而得到新的生命。蛋，便成为复活节常用的象征物之一。蛋乃意味着春天的到来及新生命的诞生，并象征着耶稣从死里复活走出石墓。

复活兔(邦尼兔)
依据欧洲古老的传说，野兔是一种终日不闭眼的动物。它们能在黑夜里，观看四周其它的动物，因此，野兔就代表着黑夜中一轮皎洁的明月。再加上复活节日子的计算是以春天月圆为基准于是就将春天繁殖力强的野兔视为复活节的一个象征。这习俗传入美国后，美国人还为兔子取了一个可爱的名字，叫它复活节的邦尼兔!

复活节那天，有许多人会将煮熟的蛋用颜料画上与复活节相关的图案。例如：十字架、钉子、百合花、兔子等等，装饰的五彩缤纷。然后互相交换，提醒耶稣的复活。也有人喜欢玩寻找彩蛋的游戏，大人先将彩蛋藏在花园草丛中，让小朋友们去找。找到彩蛋的人，就要说出蛋上图案的意义。比如说，十字架是耶稣为我们死在十字架上，钉子则是提醒我们耶稣基督被钉子钉在十字架上。

圣诞节一过，复活节巧克力蛋便在糖果店里摆出来了。那些最小和花样最简单的很便宜，孩子们用自己的零花钱就可以买下来。这段时期上市的彩蛋有两种。小的一种叫方旦糖，长一英寸多一点，外面是一层薄薄的巧克力，里面是又甜又软的面团，然后再用彩色的锡箔纸包装成各种形状。另外一种是空蛋，稍微大一点，一般比鸭蛋还大一点。里面什么也没有，只是包着一个巧克力外壳。只需打碎外壳，吃巧克力片。 复活节临近时，糖果店的橱窗里会摆满比这些更精美的彩蛋。同时还有各种各样的用来吸引孩子们的小礼物出售。上面装饰有毛绒绒的羊毛做的小鸡，小鸡的嘴和脚都粘在卡片上。幸运的孩子可能从亲友那儿得到好几种这样的礼物。
